Coogee Beach to Bondi Beach Coastal Walk – Sydney, Australia

When visiting Sydney, you have to stop by some of the beautiful beaches. And even though we visited in the winter time, we did not want to miss the opportunity. The Coogee to Bondi coastal walk is a great way to see all the sites along the eastern suburds of Sydney. This six km urban, cliff top, coastal walk allows for visitors to pass through many towns and move at their own pace, including:

Bondi Beach
Mackenzies Bay
Tamarama
Bronte Beach
Clovelly Beach
Gordon’s Bay
Coogee Beach
Lurline Bay
Maroubra Beach

There are chances to stop and relax on the beaches, swim in the water, enjoy a cafe or restaurant, try surfing, walk around the towns, and much more.

Our plan for today was to start in Coogee and walk the six km to Bondi to enjoy the coastal walk that hugs the coastline for beaches with beautiful views. For the first time since the beginning of the trip – there was not a cloud in the sky and the sun was in full glory so it was the perfect day for this! We started in Coogee Beach so that we could have lunch and enjoy Bondi Beach afterward without needing to backtrack.

We took a ride share to Coogee Beach – it is amazing that a short 15 minute drive from downtown gets you to this beautiful coastline. The walk itself is absolutely spectacular and we enjoyed every bit of it. There is a section towards Bondi Beach that just gives the most stunning photos. I am sure if we sat and waited we would be able to see whales from this viewpoint. It was hard to stop taking photos.

We started the walk around 11AM in Coogee and finished at 1230PM in Bondi so it made for a lovely afternoon stroll in under the time I expected us to take. I would highly recommend adding this walk to your Sydney itinerary, especially if the weather is warm and you can add some beach time in as well. The walk is easy and comes with fantastic views, and I would say do the walk from starting a Coogee instead of the reverse as there is more to do in Bondi once you are done the walk.
