Visiting the Royal Botanical Gardens Victoria – Melbourne, Australia
The Royal Botanical Gardens Victoria are one of the must see attractions when visiting Melbourne. Established over 170 years ago, there are over 38 hectares (94 acres) of space with over 8,500 plant species from all over the world.

Our Airbnb was just a short walk We made our way to the Royal Botanical Gardens Victoria to continue our morning stroll and my goodness the map of the gardens is intense – there is so much to see! We could not believe this is a free entrance but ourselves including many locals on their morning walk enjoy it just fine. The various sections are outlined but it is easy to just wander aimlessly. We visited at the end of May which is the end of autumn getting ready to enter winter so while it may not be peak time for gardens, it was still bursting with life. The bird game was high as Kevin tried to identify new bid friends. We were able to walk most of the garden pathways for two hours but it is easy to spent more time enjoying every section. These gardens are so impressive and definitely a must stop which visiting and beat the crowds by arriving early in the morning.
Enjoy the photos of the gardens!
