Chocolate Making Experience and Museum at Choco Story Colmar – Colmar, France

After spending the day in Colmar, we finished much earlier than I expected. We were looking at 2:30PM and found ourselves with a bit of time on our hands. Our dinner plans required us to stay local and we wanted to see the lights at night. But we surprisingly ran out of things to occupy the time. After a quick google search, Kevin found the Choco Story Colmar – a chocolate museum – and Chocolate Making Experience – it was surprisingly well rated so we thought we would give it a try.

For 40 euro, we got entrance to the museum and a 45 minute chocolate making experience that include take home chocolate souvenirs. Our chocolate making experience started shortly after we received our ticket so we quickly walked through the museum – knowing we would see it after the chocolate making – and made our way to the chocolate making studio.

We had a great time learning about the chocolate and making our own. The first activity was pipping chocolate to create chocolate lollipops that allowed for us to select the chocolate type and many toppings. Everyone’s ended up being completely different. After, we made chocolate sculptures of a Santa or snowman. And our chocolates got nicely packaged like we purchased them and made for tasty souvenirs for later in the trip. There is also a viewing window so people on the outside can take a peek at the fun.

After our chocolate making experience, we returned to the front of the chocolate museum to explore the interactive journey of chocolate. We were given devices that you scanned at areas to listen to the audio throughout the experience. There were also many interactive moments as well as free chocolate samples.

Visiting the Chocolate Making Experience and Museum at Choco Story in Colmar ended up being a wonderful way to spend a few hours and we left with some delicious treats. I think this experience would be great for families as well. If this is something that would interest you, I would recommend adding it to your Colmar visit.
