Dining Review: ‘A NASSA – Trapani – Sicily, Italy
Dinner tonight was at ‘A NASSA for a casual meal specializing in street seafood. This spot was already crowded with people so we were glad to have a reservation – the people in front of us were turned away as they did not have a reservation. Our stable was tucked into the corner inside the very small space. The vibe inside and outside was bopping as the place was packed. We started with drinks – Kevin snagging his first of many spritzes in the true spirit of Eurosummer and we also ordered a half liter of Grillo white wine from Sicily.

The menu is simple but full of delicious options. We had some help for our server to estimate portion sizes and I think we did a good job on ordering.
- Frying by meter – squid, baby squid, red prawns, latterino o uggiolo, cod fillet, chips, sardines – Levanzo 30 cm wood board for two people Wow these frying by meter seafood boards are epic and so delicious. Our favorite was the baby squid but everything on the board was amazing. Grazing boards are one of the best ways to eat.
- Fresh Busiata pasta of the day – scoglio seafood Busiata is a traditional shape originating in Trapani like a spiraled tagliatelle. It is named after busa, which is used to give the pasta the spiral shape. And this dish was one of our best pastas on the entire trip. This was jam packed with flavor and seafood – mussels, clams, calamari, shrimp, squid – and it was just delicious and wonderful.

Honestly, I think we could have eaten here every night and been pleased with just ordering the seafood board and the fresh pasta of the day. Make sure you have reservations – this spot is popular even with locals and seats fill up fast. Highly recommend ‘A NASSA for your trip!
