The Best Resorts at Walt Disney World and Where to Stay

The Best Resorts at Walt Disney World and Where to Stay

One of the important parts of planning your Walt Disney World vacation is choosing where to stay. This can be overwhelming as there is a lot to consider –  on property vs off property, type of resort, to rent a car, budget restrictions, etc. We have stayed in at least one of every option available so I have some insight! There are so many options to consider and there is something that works for everyone that is traveling to Disney. This is certainly not a one size fits all decision! Here is a break down the choices you have when visiting Walt Disney World to help you decide which option is best for you.

Our Favorites

When time is money on a Disney vacation, we really like to focus on being close to one of the theme parks – especially those within walking distance. We also like to be in an area that has many options for activities and dining outside of the parks for park free days. That leaves us with selecting a hotel on the monorail loop near Magic Kingdom or a hotel along the boardwalk area. While these resorts are the most expensive on Disney property, we make sure to do a few things. First, we make sure to have some park-free time which saves money on the expensive theme park tickets and allows us to enjoy the amenities at the resort and neighboring hotels that we are paying for by staying there. Second, we take advantage of saving money on the rooms thought DVC rental programs. While you get the bang-for-your-buck when frequently staying at these accommodations through the DVC program, there is a nifty way to get these rooms without being a DVC member and for a fraction of the price by renting points. Essentially, you are renting someone’s DVC timeshare to benefit from the cheaper prices. There are many companies that rent points – I have used The DVC Store and DVC-Rental. If staying at one of these resorts is not in your budget, then I would suggest staying along the Skyliner where you can find moderately priced resorts but still have the benefits of being connected to other hotels and direct access to theme parks.

I hope this was helpful for planning your first or next Disney Trip or any destination in the Orlando area!
