Packing in a Personal Item: Sardinia, Italy

The reason for packing in a personal item only for this trip were far different from the last time we did this for Glacier National Park. We have always had a romanticized vision of traveling in Italy by Vespa, and now that we had one it only felt right to give this dream a chance to become reality. That being said, our typical EBags TLS Mother Lode Weekender Convertible was not going to cut it on the back of a scooter. We agreed that if we went with a Vespa as the mode of transportation on this trip, we were going to have to pack super light – personal item sized item it is.

We have packed in personal items only in the past but it has been for a weekend stay only – this would definitely be the longest we packed in a tiny backpack.

What I wore on the plane:

And it worked like a charm. Everything fit nicely, the bag was not too heavy, the bag fit under the seat in front of us, and worked so well for hiking. Laundry was timed perfectly and we had plenty of clothing!
